Our approach to Dentistry and Orthodontics: Primum non nocere. This is our motto. That is why parents entrust us with the care of their children... and often become our patients too. Before starting any therapy or treatment, we like to share with our patients the secrets of oral hygiene, nutrition and microbiome which prevents the appearance of cavities.
This is one of our strengths: there are 5 golden rules for maintaining a healthy smile. We teach adults and children of all ages the secrets to prevent the development of cavities and gum-related illnesses.
Pediatric sealants play a crucial role in protecting molars from decay. We are able to provide our young patients with state-of-the-art fillings and root canal therapies adapted to the needs of the individual patient. The first goal of our approach is to build a positive relationship between young patients and their dentist, as it will determine the type of relationship they will have as adults with their oral health and their dentist. Our therapies always have the child's experience at heart. As a consequence, we have 2 strategies for working with children.
We have been working in Orthodontics for over 28 years. It is important to detect occlusion problems in children and adolescents during their growth. At the age of 6, 80% of craniofacial growth has already been achieved, so we recommend the first orthodontic visit before 4-5 years of age. Strabismus can alter the head's position, just as a malocclusion can influence the asymmetrical growth of the jaw and the "awkward" position of the head and neck. Most children with malocclusions are characterized by a skeletal "imbalance". These discrepancies can be obvious and therefore diagnosed early. The aim of early treatment is to take full advantage of the high malleability of the facial skeleton of children. In addition to these considerations, we shouldn't forget that the dentofacial characteristics of many malocclusions in deciduous dentition (baby teeth) are maintained or even worsened when transitioning to the permanent dentition. So, why not intervene on children right from an early age?
Sometimes life brings us to meet the orthodontist when our growth is finished. Even in these cases orthodontics can come to our aid.
Fixed adult orthodontics is the best solution when it is necessary to restore a good occlusion or as an aid to aesthetic and prosthetic dentistry techniques.
We have been using this equipment since 2002, when the first certification was held in Italy. Invisalign® is a device for aligning teeth that uses a series of transparent and removable aligners, and no metal brackets. With these aligners the teeth move, week after week, until they reach the position designed by the orthodontist. You will be shown the expected appearance of your smile and the movement of your teeth during treatment using ClinCheck, the software that shows you the virtual 3D treatment plan.
Invisalign for children and teenagers
Invisalign Teen and First are treatments designed specifically for children and teenagers. They offer different treatment options depending on the patient's age and the stage of development of his/her teeth.
Depending on your needs, our specialists will offer you aesthetic reconstructions, inlays, veneers, endodontic treatments and crowns in biocompatible materials . In our practice, we do not use silver amalgams and if it is important to remove them, we apply all procedures to protect the patient and the environment.
Periodontal disease, commonly called pyorrhoea, affects bones and gums. Unfortunately, the disease has few symptoms and sometimes, if diagnosed late, can lead to tooth loss.
Our specialists will advise you on treatments to cure and stabilize the disease, and in some cases we will use implants.
When treating a patient, it is always necessary to check the relationship between the occlusion and the functions of the temporomandibular muscles and joints.
When the system is out of balance you can develop several types of painful symptoms called DCM or Cranio Mandibular Disorders including headaches, facial and neck muscle pain as well as joint pain.
Respiratory problems during sleep, especially when associated with daytime sleepiness, can be a symptom of a dangerous disease: Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). This disease, which is rarely diagnosed, actually increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, hypertension and diabetes because apnoeas are associated with a drop in the percentage of oxygen in the blood with consequences on the cardio- and cerebrovascular system and metabolism.
The treatment of this disease is always conducted with a pulmonologist who assesses whether the patient can benefit from a MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device).
We routinely take dental impressions with the iTero scanner: a digital impression of your teeth. The iTero intraoral scanner is a compact device that allows our patients to experience one of the most advanced technologies available. iTero's innovative technology uses laser optical scanning to take impressions of your teeth with the utmost precision and accuracy. Through the digital impression it will be possible to have, in real time, the 3D simulation of the orthodontic therapy plan, and see a preview of the final result of the treatment. The iTero digital scanner is very reliable and also saves time: it eliminates the need to repeat the impression and allows us to obtain a plan of the clinical case in an extremely reliable and modern way.
We currently use this technique if patients are "afraid of the dentist" because of previous negative experiences or with very young patients, because we believe it is crucial for them to have a positive memory of the dental session.
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is a natural gas that does not affect the patient's driving abilities after the treatment. Our staff will be happy to give you more explanations during your first visit.
